What is a Lazy Cake?

Lazy Cakes are skein of yarn that are larger than 100 grams.

Why are they called lazy cakes?

Because they come to you already caked so there is no need to wind them! They are also handy when making large shawls and wraps because they will only have two ends to weave in at the end of the project! If making a sweater or poncho there is no need to alternate skeins for color consistency because Lazy Cakes are one continuous skein that has been dyed one at a time...so no dye lots!
