Stitch Between the Lines Book Club
I love to read and I’m trying to take more time to do so. I also can’t sit still very easily and always need to be knitting or crocheting while reading. You’d think an audio book would make sense but I find myself frequently annoyed with the sound of most voices (including my own) and my mind wanders with all the shit I have to do when I try an audio book. Plus there is something so wonderful about holding and experiencing an actual book. Picking out a new story to read. Trying out a book I’d normally not reach for on the shelf. Cracking open a brand new binding, the feel of the pages, the smell of the words on paper. I love it all.
I live outside of a tiny community that doesn’t have much in it. Then a book store opened up in town and I was sooo excited!! I don’t go into town much so it actually opened up this past October and I had no idea until about a month ago. I suck, I know. The book store is called Perennial Pages Bookshoppe! How cute is that!! The owner is an absolute adorable delight. Her name is Lori 😊after dishing with her about some things we decided to collaborate on a bookish project! I’ll read a book and dye yarn to go with it and we’ll offer book and yarn sets at both of our locations!
This book club won’t be like a normal club where we meet up and gab about the local gossip, drink too much wine and maybe talk about a book. It’s really more my own book journey told with yarn and will happen as I’m reading actual books or have just finished a book. If you want to try the book you can and you’ll get a skein of yarn to match and maybe some other things down the road, or you can pass up a title that you don’t think you’ll enjoy. If the club gains interest and becomes popular I’ll create a facebook page for it where we can talk about the titles and yarn or maybe a YouTube video. Who knows. It could fizzle out entirely… I mean do people still read books?? Or do they just listen to stories these days.
